"Hi, my name is Anaseini. It's pronounced, ah-nuh-say-nee. Thank you for your interest in working with me!
I'm an English Language Arts and Acting/Shakespeare tutor. I work with 3rd-12th grade students, and I help with reading and writing. I am also available to proofread essays for students in college, and for any tutoring related to acting, theater, and Shakespeare.
I hold a B.A. in Theatre Arts. I spent 8 years working in a law firm and 7 years at an education software company. I have 6+ years of tutoring experience with after school programs and 1:1 private tutoring.
When I tutor, it’s important to me to always lead with kindness. Learning is a lifelong journey and everyone is at different points in that journey. I like to meet the student wherever they're at and tailor the lessons to how they learn best. I benefitted from having great educators in my life and so I try to do the same in my lessons. I believe learning should be fun, inspiring, and have lots of opportunity for practice. I enjoy helping students build their confidence and hopefully find the joy in learning through the strengthening of their reading and writing skills. I hope to instill a love for learning in all of my students, especially a love for reading and writing.
What to expect in a lesson with me:
1. In our first lesson, I will take some time to get to know you, how you learn, and what you need help with.
2. Every lesson we will practice a specific skill. First, I will model the skill, then we will practice it together, and afterwards you'll practice it independently.
3. Near the end of our time, we will review what we learned
4. Lastly, we will end with a game -- because learning is best when it's also fun!
Thank you for considering me as a learning partner! Message me to set up a lesson to see if we'd be a good fit for each other." less...
