"Hi, my name is Jamie. I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and I’m a member of the Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology. I have a graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) from the University of Central Florida. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I believe that teaching styles need to vary depending on the student and what approach works best for them to understand the material being taught.

I have 6 years of tutoring experience. My teaching experience is from homeschooling my Autistic son, who was diagnosed at the age of 2. My son has taught me that there is more than one way to teach. Every child is different and what works for one may not work as effectively with another child. For this reason, I approach teaching with patience and understanding. I use worksheets, books, games, hands-on crafts, and manipulatives—which involve the use of objects like blocks, puzzles, play money, clock dials, etc.; this helps students visualize abstract topics in a fun and engaging way. I am passionate about tutoring because I like to help students succeed and make a difference.

I offer a free consultation to make sure I can help achieve the goals in mind by the parent and student. Subjects I offer tutoring on are Elementary Math, Elementary Language Arts, Handwriting, and Fine Motor Skills.
