"Hello, thank you for taking the time for reading about me.
I received my bachelor's degree in Huminites/English from Columbia College in MO. I retired after 25 years working as a Teaching Assistant in the Syracuse City School District in July of 2023. I have worked with all grade levels from Pre K to 12. The last 7 years involved a lot of interventions in reading and writing with grades K-8. The last two years were in middle school as a reading specialist. In addition, I have worked with special education students in small groups and in the classroom modifying work, planning lessons, teaching study skills and note taking. During Covid I ran an afterschool book club virtually that was a lot of fun.
In my free time I like to spend time walking and hiking with my dog Mabel and going to see live music. My husband and I have two grown boys out of college.
I really enjoy helping students become better readers and writers, it is a skill needed throughout life." less...
