"I am in my 50th year as a computer technician as I started out in 1966 at the age of 19, working for Honeywell, Inc. in Boston, MA. "I am in my 50th year as a computer technician as I started out in 1966 at the age of 19, working for Honeywell, Inc. in Boston, MA. Over the years, I have been a computer tech for a few manufacturers, the US Army (8 years), a programming consultant at Aetna headquarters (Hartford, CT), and owner of my own computer service companies: 1980's and now.
I received a degree in business (nights) and spent 10 1/2 years as controller for a medium sized printing company. I presently own a company that does smoke and water remediation for electronics that have been in a fire or a flood. I love working on computers and using them to accomplish projects and goals. In 1984, my then 8 year old daughter was able to use a PC, a Mac and a Commodore 64. She loved it and is now a senior IT supervisor for the Board of Education in Hartford, CT. I really enjoy helping people learn how to get the most out of their systems.
In 2008, a local university (Misericordia U) asked me to put together three courses (Basic, Intermediate and an Advanced) that would be taught in their Adult Ed Program. They occur in the Fall and Spring Semesters each school year. The evaluation reports by my students in all those years have been outstanding. In fact, the University hired me to teach their employees this past summer. Along the way, a local Community College hired me to help with their Adult Program for both Adult students and Work Related Training Programs that they offer. I have also received high marks from their evaluation reports. I will be starting a special Beginner's Class. I didn't know that I can teach effectively, until I did that first course in 2008. I attempt to teach with humor and I try to get people to understand all the elements necessary to be successful in their studies.
Whether you are younger or older, it doesn't matter, I'm happy to focus upon what you want/need to learn. I'll take you step by step from your starting point to completing what you saw as your goal." less...
