"I have taught English in a variety of school settings from urban to rural and have designed workshops for students regarding poetics and literature. Aside from English, I am a certified second degree black belt with fifteen years of experience in Hapkido. Through this lifestyle, I have been an instructor long before I knew I wanted to be an English educator. With the discipline of my practice in English education and martial arts, I have found that my philosophy with teaching is that all students are capable of achieving their goals whether that is in the classroom or outside of it. I have worked with students of many different backgrounds and I love that tutoring offers me the ability to meet more of these diverse students. All learners deserve to move forward in their education and I want to provide that for as many as I can. With these goals in mind, I was honored as a Golden Apple scholar and now have a significant amount of experience in diversity and educational philosophy. This organization focuses on giving future teachers time in classrooms during an internship for four weeks in the summer. Golden Apple scholars learn about educational philosophy and teaching methods in workshops designed by licensed educators of all subject areas.

My strengths within English are grammar, reading comprehension, literature, poetry (performance and written), creative writing, proofreading, and editing as the focus of my undergraduate studies. Above all, my passion for the English language has driven me to be the educator and scholar that I am today. I have taught a series of lessons involving writing exercises and reading comprehension that invites learners to want to achieve more.
