"There are a million ways to learn how atoms move!" said Mr. Jacobs, my high school chemistry teacher, who first ignited my love for the sciences. I am a 4th year medical student at an MD program in Chicago and a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a 3.9 GPA and several scholarships. I wasn't always a top student. In middle school, I averaged mostly Bs and envied those who were naturally gifted. I never imagined I could be at the top of my class. I spent my days watching TV, playing games, and hanging out with friends. But everything changed when my mother pushed me to take the PSAT for admission to a competitive IB program.
When the results came out, my name wasn’t on the accepted list — but it was on the waitlist. My acceptance and decision to join the IB program became a turning point in my life. I met friends who motivated me to study harder and aim higher. When I was discouraged by grades, family, friends, and teachers encouraged me to keep trying. Eventually, this became my new standard.
This is why I want to be your tutor. I know what it’s like to struggle and doubt yourself. I believe that with motivation and the right guidance, anyone can achieve their goals. I want to help you become a better version of yourself — to find joy in learning while working toward success.
My motto is "play hard, but work harder." I want you to work hard and study smart, but also have fun and enjoy life. I have experience tutoring students of all ages, from elementary to college. In college, I worked as a student academic advisor, helping students adjust to intense coursework. I also tutored math, science, English, SAT, and TOEFL through academies and private sessions.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I’m more than happy to help you succeed!" less...
