"My love for teaching stems from a love of learning. I believe teaching to be both a calling and a passion. It certainly is for me. The greatest success I can have as a teacher is to create an eager, life-long learner. I specialize in tutoring Reading, from fluency and comprehension to Literature Analysis. I also specialize in tutoring all levels of Writing. This includes Elementary writing, term papers, college essays and personal statements, as well as business writing. In addition, I offer sessions for Elementary subjects (math, science, social studies), High School & College level English, and organization, time management & study skills .

My goal is to make learning an enjoyable and successful experience for my students. I have a Bachelor's degree in English and a dual Master's degree in Childhood Education and Literacy. In addition, I have taught in both classroom and small group settings. As a result, I am able to successfully support a variety of learning needs.

I believe it is important to first get to know a student, become acquainted with his or her learning style and then assess the specific areas or skills that need developing. From there, I develop individualized instruction to meet these needs. Just as important as improving skills is increasing a student's confidence in his or her abilities. I provide frequent feedback to students and parents, and appreciate the same in return. Learning should be a positive experience and I strive to create that for my students.
