"Hi, my name is Aashika! I’m from California and graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego with a BS in Clinical Psychology in 2021. I additionally passed my SPI physics and RDCS certification from Johns Hopkins in 2023, and am currently working at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a medical cardiac sonographer.
A little background about me, in high school, I started out volunteering for BuddiesForMath and KidsRead, two organizations giving elementary aged children supplemental support with math and reading outside of school. I loved that one one one with students, and later became a member of CSF tutoring, where I tutored middle school English/math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra 1. Also a middle school English and math Teacher's Aide, I have experience in creating lesson plans and activities to engage students during instruction.
My experience working one-on-one with students has allowed me to tailor my focus to their individual needs. Each individual processes concepts differently, and I've come to learn that demonstrating different approaches to the same result allows students to take control and decide which they are able to understand best. As a tutor, it is always amazing to see my students grow into their potential and find their confidence. With patience and adaptability, I am confident we will be able to discover the optimal way that your student learns, whether that is through fully writing out an extra step, or approaching the problem in an entirely different way.
I love tutoring, and the time I dedicate to helping my students gives me great satisfaction seeing their faces during that "aha" moment. I hope to connect with you in a way that helps you really understand and apply the material, as opposed to just memorization. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule lesson, I am easy to reach! I am always open to constructive suggestions as well :)" less...
