Currently I am a Sales Engineer for a Fortune 500 Company. I have a unique past, allow me to share it, below!
I earned an Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech. During that time, I tutored circuits to undergraduates and taught LEGO classes to elementary students. After graduation I became a Sales Engineer at a Fortune 500 company. While working I helped 250+ students on career advice, career readiness, resume building, interview skills, soft skills, etc.
During my time in corporate, I saw the lack of diversity within the Engineering field, I wanted to change that. After doing many years of research, I found out the best way to change that is to... Teach!
I went back to school to receive my Master's degree in Mathematical Education at Arizona State University. While at ASU, I tutored students and adults of all ages.
Post-graduation, I became an Engineering/Mathematics Teacher at a Local High School in Mesa and taught Algebra 2 and Introduction to Engineering. I was an Assistant Coach in Basketball and Tennis, and a mentor for our State Champion Robotics Team for 3 years.
For the past 3 years, I taught at a High School in Evanston, Illinois. During that time, I taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Data Science, and Introduction to Engineering. I was also a middle school basketball coach, philanthropy teacher, and assistant cross country coach.
During my 3rd year of teaching in Evanston, I received fast-track tenure, one year early, due to 3 consecutive years of excellent performance.
