"Hello I’m Ms. W. and I make math make sense! I’m a patient and friendly high school Math teacher with over 10 years of experience! I earned my Bachelor's degree from Western Governor's University where I studied Secondary Math Education. I'm certified in the state of Georgia to teach 6th through 12th grade math but I've also taken and passed the national PRAXIS exam. In my teaching career I’ve taught middle school math, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and Calculus. Even before I became a teacher, I loved to tutor. My favorite moment is ALWAYS the look across someone's face when it finally clicks! I believe that a lot learning is building confidence in your ability! Over the years, I've tutored students preparing for the GED, SAT, ACT, and ASVAB.

I have a lot of experience teaching students in a virtual setting. Currently, I teach at a completely virtual school. I've been teaching here for 4 years, The benefit to that is that I've learned all types of tips and tricks to making learning online the most effective. I also can suggest and provide resources to help you succeed!

I take a personalized approach to learning! Every student has different learning styles and abilities and I believe it is important to learn that about your student and use that to drive instruction. I use the gradual release method: I’ll demonstrate a problem (explaining my thinking process as I go along), then we will attempt some problems together, and then the student will attempt a problem as they explain their thinking (so I can clear up misconceptions), then finally the student will attempt problems completely on their own!
