"Hello! My name is Lacie, and my journey with mathematics has been far from traditional. I returned to college in 2016 after working for a few years, initially placing into a developmental pre-college mathematics class. Despite having no prior experience with mathematics, I became overwhelmingly interested in the subject and took every mathematics course that Seminole State College offered, including independent studies in topics such as logic and proof and advanced calculus.
I earned my associate's degree in 2019 from Seminole State College and went on to complete my bachelor's degree at Stetson University, majoring in mathematics with a concentration in actuarial and financial mathematics. I graduated magna cum laude in 2021. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in financial mathematics at the University of Central Florida (specializing in probability theory), where I previously worked as a graduate teaching assistant.
With over seven years of teaching experience, I am dedicated to helping students overcome their struggles with mathematics. I believe that with the right guidance and support, anyone can be successful in learning mathematics and achieving their academic goals. Whether you're dealing with foundational concepts or advanced topics, I'm here to help you succeed." less...
