"As a certified Special Education Teacher and Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments, I bring five years of diverse teaching experience and a deep commitment to individualized learning. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Sociology, and since then, I've had the privilege of working with students ranging from infants to young adults (ages birth to 21) in a variety of unique educational settings.
Over the years, I've taught middle school math, reading, and science, as well as served as a Homebound teacher and a teacher in a behavioral hospital. These roles have shaped my approach—one rooted in patience, encouragement, and the belief that every student can succeed when given the right tools and support. I’m most proud of the work I accomplished preparing students for the STAAR exam in both homebound and hospital settings. In these challenging environments, I helped students refocus on learning and achieve meaningful academic goals despite the odds. Watching them push through obstacles and grow in confidence was truly rewarding.
My teaching style is all about building relationships. I believe strong, positive connections are the foundation of effective learning. I use positive reinforcement to motivate students and love incorporating real-world examples to make content come alive. Critical thinking is a central focus of my lessons, and I strive to create sessions that are engaging, meaningful, and tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs. With half a decade of experience in differentiation, I promise that every tutoring session is individualized—no cookie-cutter lessons here.
Tutoring allows me to do what I love most: help students become more confident in themselves. There’s nothing better than seeing a student realize, “I can do this.”" less...
