"Hello! My name is Nicholas. I have always enjoyed math and the sciences and am most knowledgeable in those areas. I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I am most comfortable tutoring General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry and have taken math through Calculus I. My goal during tutoring is for the student to leave feeling more confident in their material. The best moment for me is seeing a student grasp a deep understanding of concepts, applying them to new situations, and being proud of their newly gained skills.

Students normally come to me for tutoring in math and chemistry. I have tutored students from elementary school to adults in college and led study sessions for chemistry at SPU. I love teaching math and chemistry and being able to help others grow in their understanding of the subjects. My approach is to explain concepts using various examples and wordings to ensure that my students can grasp the ideas and later recall them on their exams. Often, I check in with students and ask them clarifying questions to make sure they understand the material. Normally, I ask those whom I tutor to send me the topics they are working on to prepare the appropriate materials and have an effective tutoring session. Services that I can provide range and are not limited to homework help, test preparation, and additional materials to increase the student's understanding. I believe in seeing the big picture and then going into the details of a topic versus memorizing it. I am open to other teaching methods to best suit the student's needs to make our tutoring session work well for both of us. Learning is a process that is unique to each student so, I believe it is important to reward the effort students put towards understanding their material.
