"I consider myself a patient and knowledgeable mentor, supplied by a significant background in mathematics, physics, programming, and engineering. I began teaching during my undergraduate career, serving as a teaching assistant for multivariate calculus and proof-based analysis within the University of Chicago's Department of Mathematics. After discovering the knack, I continued tutoring--both online and in-person--throughout my time in undergrad and beyond. As a PhD student at Vanderbilt University, I have had the opportunity to further hone my pedagogical skills in a more rigorous and professional setting while serving as a graduate teaching assistant. I am eager to use my experience to help others succeed academically and professionally! I am very open to and appreciative of feedback, so please let me know how to help you learn!
I hold a B.S. in mathematics and a B.A in physics from the University of Chicago, where I graduated Cum Laude in 2019. Since then, I worked as a technologist on the at CERN's Large Hadron Collider, before beginning a PhD degree at Vanderbilt University in the field of experimental condensed matter and optics. Throughout my career, I have developed and maintained a high level understanding of topics in physics and mathematics, including calculus, linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and thermodynamics to name a few. But I have always had a natural fascination with and propensity for mathematical enterprises. In high school, I scored a 35 on the ACT Math exam and a 5 on the AP Statistics exam, and I consistently excelled in AP level math classes, earning me a 4.3 weighted GPA.
Please feel free to contact me for tutoring in a wide range of topics. Besides physics and math, I also have a strong understanding of high school level biology and chemistry, computer programming, and English literature. I would also be more than happy to engage in lessons relating to writing, reading comprehension, and basic computer programming. Looking forward to working with you!" less...
