"I love teaching. I love sharing my knowledge and skills with others and seeing the spark of understanding in my students’ eyes and their thrill and excitement when they learn new skills or knowledge. I believe that learning should and can be fun! I love seeing my students enjoying the learning process and guiding them through that process. Being a teacher is my life’s purpose and I look forward to sharing that energy with my students and helping them in their learning journeys.
I know the challenges one faces when learning a foreign language. I studied French in high school and college, and also learned Spanish while living in South America. My experiences with the language-learning process enables me to better understand what my ESL students need in order to be successful. I have a BA in Visual & Performing Arts from the University of Colorado and TEFL certification in English as a Foreign Language instruction.
I have been a teacher for most of my adult life. I homeschooled my children from kindergarten through high school. I have taught music and English to private students for more than 30 years. I have experience teaching students as young as 4 to 80-year-old adults.
I have experience as a volunteer ESL tutor and as a teacher of online English classes to students in Latin America. My specialty is grammar – I can help you in both your written and spoken English grammar. I also enjoy teaching reading and conversation skills.
I adjust my teaching methods to accommodate the learning style of my students while using a combination of reading, writing, listening and speaking activities, focusing on topics and situations encountered in daily living. I want my students to succeed, therefore I will provide fun and engaging activities and instruction to help them achieve their goals.
Please feel free to message me with any questions! Even if you don't find exactly what you're looking for in my profile, that doesn't mean I can't teach you! I look forward to meeting you!" less...
