"I’ve been a storyteller since I can remember. I'm a Kansas City based writing tutor, professor, and editor who has worked in education for over 10 years. I'm a certified Level 3 Tutor by CRLA. My goals include helping students become better writers, helping students build confidence, and sharing my creative work. I believe that I have a unique approach to teaching that prioritizes patience, accessibility, and students' individual learning processes. My background in creative writing also enables me to provide creative solutions and help you develop your writing skills depending on the situation and genres you're writing in. In May 2024, I earned my Master's of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing and Media Arts with a focus on poetry and completed a teaching assistantship. I was awarded the Sosland Teaching Award in May 2024. Currently, I work as an adjunct English instructor at UMKC, a writing tutor, a freelance editor, and poetry reader for Bear Review. I have also volunteered to teach writing workshops at my middle school in Holden, MO. I have experience in the classroom, one on one, and group workshops. I also attended MCC-Longview in Lee’s Summit, MO, where I received my associate’s degree and the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO, where I received my BA in English with minors in technical writing and creative writing.

I have been a writing tutor since 2015. I worked at both Longview’s and the University of Central Missouri’s Writing Centers to help college students and adult learners.
