"Hello! My name is Amelia and I have been working as a tutor for a couple of years now. I began working as a tutor in college for an in home tutoring company which I eventually left to work here on Wyzant's platform. Since joining Wyzant's platform, I have mainly tutored in Chemistry though I also tutor other subjects such as math and biology. I have a bachelors degree that was heavily science based so I have a strong background in math and science.

I tutor students online from the middle school level all the way to the college level. I am a patient tutor and I always ask my students for confirmation on their understanding and I do not mind repeating myself or going through a problem in a different way for better understanding. I always ask my students to send me examples of what they would like to work on or to tell me what topics they would like to cover so I can be prepared for our sessions. How sessions go with each student differs depending on the student themselves. I do not tutor each student the exact same way and I strive to accommodate each students needs to help them succeed. I have worked with a few students who had learning disabilities. I use visual examples when I tutor which I find to be especially helpful using the online classroom. I enjoy finding new ways to teach students and I often develop new techniques based on sessions I have had.
