"Hi! I’m Hope (she/they). I’ve lived in Chicago for 4 years, but I grew up in Canada, Russia, Czech Republic, Israel and Azerbaijan. I have a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Urban Studies, and am working towards an M.A. in Art Therapy. I am available to help with learning English or Russian, tutoring for any grade school subjects, acing your Sociology classes, or proofreading writing at all levels!

I have 7 years of experience teaching English. In Azerbaijan, I taught English to a preschool class and did private tutoring with a middle-schooler and an advanced-level adult. For 3 years, I taught English to Haitian middle school and high school students over video call.

I’ve also served as a teaching assistant for college-level Sociology for three summers. My friends and family turn to me as a go-to whenever they need extra help with homework at any level, writing and proofreading papers, or practicing Russian.

I am a patient, caring, and creative teacher. I love getting to know my students’ goals, interests and learning style to offer the best support possible. We can learn by reading books, playing games, making art, telling stories, or even cooking a meal together!
