"Hi! I'm Annelise, a high school senior who just took the ACT in June and scored a perfect score on both English and Reading. I have fresh knowledge of what the actual test currently looks like and I understand peer and parental pressure to do well. I'm a joyful, kind, and driven teacher who is determined to make sure you improve your score. The first time I took the ACT, I took it cold and got a 30. With a little bit of studying and a lot of tips and tricks, my score bumped up to a 35. The ACT is an exam that measures your test-taking skills, and I know firsthand how to find, learn, and apply them to your studies. I am a National Hispanic Recognition Scholar and a National Rural and Small Town Awardee as well, so I am a good fit for all students, regardless of circumstance. I also recently scored 5s on AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and AP European History, and currently have a gpa of 4.53. I scored 34s on both ACT Math and Science so I understand not just humanity-specific subjects but a holistic approach to the ACT as well.
I have experience tutoring my special needs brother in a variety of subjects, from elementary to high school logic, English, writing, and Latin. I volunteered with autistic students to teach religion for a week, balanced many forms of mental health issues among friends and ballet students with their studies, and have edited too many essays to count--college and otherwise. I have over 450 hours of volunteer work. I have experience with all kinds of kids, including those with extremely high IQs, Down syndrome, Autism, ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, OCD, and ODD.
I want to help my students achieve their goals, and will do anything to help them, both in and outside of the tutoring hour. Because I am homeschooled, I have a lot of flexibility with scheduling. I'm a fast responder, so feel free to reach out to me anytime. I welcome any resources or suggestions you can provide. I'm really excited to work with you!" less...
