"Hello students! I've taught high school, college, and adult/professional learners in my area of expertise and beyond. My Ph.D. is in Biblical Studies, but I've also taught great books courses; and in every subject I've insisted that my students learn how to craft a decent essay. My English and writing talents led to a role as an Editorial Assistant, and in that position I won three Rhode Island Press Association Editorial Awards in two years. I also have three nonfiction books and one peer-reviewed article to my credit.

I care about each of my students and want you to succeed. I will be firm in my expectations in order to help you to develop skills that will be useful not only in school, but in the wider world. I won't hand you the answers, but guide you to think and find the answers yourself. I will proceed at a pace appropriate to your level; but I will require that you do the work.
