"I have recently retired from a 35 year career in the field of semiconductor lithography, having worked for Siemens, IBM, and Motorola. I am regarded as an industry expert and was named a fellow of the SPIE professional organization in 2009 for my contributions to the field of lithography, which is how light interacts with special chemicals to enable patterning of ultra high resolution patters for semiconductor chip fabrication. During my career I really enjoyed working with junior engineers just starting in the industry, and regularly taught a few different classes describing the amazing process of how these chips are manufactured.
I received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry (think combining Physics and Chemistry) from the University of Texas at Austin (go Horns!) in 1990, and prior to that received a B.A. in Chemistry from Carleton College.. During graduate school I tutored college students in Chemistry and taught Physical Chemistry to undergraduates. So I have experience in 1:1 tutoring, group tutoring, and classroom instruction, both virtual and in person.
I am passionate about helping young people learn about science and would love to help you succeed!" less...
