"Hi! I’m Tayler, a Ph.D. statistician and mathematician with a passion for teaching AP Calculus, Statistics, and Data Analysis. I have over seven years of experience helping students master complex mathematical and statistical concepts. I specialize in teaching AP Calculus, Statistics and Probability, and college-level mathematics and Data Science. Whether it’s preparing for AP exams, tackling college coursework, or applying math in real-world contexts, I love making math and statistics approachable, intuitive, and even fun!
From college freshman to adults furthering their college education as non-traditional students, I have worked with a diverse spectrum of students of all ages and backgrounds in small groups, large classes, and one-on-one sessions. As a graduate teaching assistant for the department of Statistics at The Ohio State University, I was named Teaching Assistant of the Year three times. During my tenure there, I taught every introductory statistics course offered by the department in addition to lecturing advanced statistics courses for senior undergraduate engineering students. As an Adjunct Statistics Instructor at Columbus State Community College, I designed and taught an introductory statistics course and developed curriculum, assessments, and interactive learning tools for the mathematics department. My background in statistics, mathematics, and computer science equips me with the expertise to provide clear, insightful guidance across various levels of learning.
Recognizing that each student has their own unique way of acquiring new knowledge, my approach to teaching is personalized and adaptive. I focus on building intuition rather than rote memorization and emphasize practical applications and real-world examples to make abstract theories more relatable. Ultimately, my goal is not just to help students succeed in their coursework but to instill in them a lasting appreciation for the subject and the confidence to tackle new challenges independently." less...
