"Hello! I’m a college professor with a rich educational background that includes a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience and Spanish from Vanderbilt University, a Master’s in Criminal Justice, and a PhD in Criminology with a certificate in Computational Social Science from Northeastern University. Since 2012, I’ve been passionately tutoring students in a variety of subjects including Algebra, Statistics, Biology, Trigonometry, SAT/ACT prep, and Writing.
My approach to tutoring is deeply influenced by a transformative experience I had during a statistics course in college, which changed my perspective on learning and teaching. This experience taught me the importance of connecting subject matter to a student’s intrinsic interests to foster a motivating and enriching learning environment. I apply this philosophy in every session, striving to make even the most challenging topics accessible and engaging.
I have a decade of experience in one-on-one and small group tutoring, as well as teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Statistics and Research Methods. My academic work is aimed at making cutting-edge research accessible to all, a principle that also guides my tutoring methods, especially in writing and test preparation.
Whether you’re struggling with mathematical concepts or looking to refine your writing skills, I’m here to help you achieve your goals with patience and personalized support." less...
