"I am a highly motivated individual who graduated summa cum laude with a double major in May of 2019 from ECU. I have both my B.S. in Chemistry and B.S. in Biochemistry, with a concentration in biochemical research. Following undergrad, I went directly into graduate school and graduated in 2021 with an M.S. in Chemistry, completing my thesis work with Dr. Anne M. Spuches at ECU. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at Northwestern University under the direction of Dr. Amy Rosenzweig. My work focuses on understanding the role of copper in bacterial homeostasis, and what proteins are reliant on these copper pathways (including antibiotic resistance, methane oxidation, etc.). During my graduate and undergraduate studies, I worked as a TA for both undergraduate and graduate level courses including: general chemistry (for both major & non-major students), general biology, quantitative and instrumental analysis, inorganic chemistry, and bioinorganic chemistry. I have consistently received ranking of 9.5/10 on the student teaching evaluation scale at Northwestern, and received the Superior Undergraduate TA award for general chemistry at Northwestern University in 2021. My favorite part about teaching is seeing a student’s confidence grow during the semester and being able to see them make connections across concepts. This was especially rewarding in the classes for non-science majors because I could watch as students became excited about topics that they previously had no interest in!

I like to take an active role in tutoring and mentoring students, and love watching my students thrive. Though I mainly have experience with college level students, I've also spent many years (3+) teaching middle school and high school students in North Carolina, and have worked closely with parents in order to set students up for success!

I offer a FREE 30-minute consultation to better understand the needs of each student, outline the student's goals for tutoring, and define an action plan to help each student reach their full potential." less...
