"I graduated summa cum laude with my bachelor's degree in chemistry and then went on to earn a PhD in chemistry at Louisiana State University. During my PhD, I taught chemistry laboratory courses and had the wonderful opportunity to help students master chemistry concepts. I worked on several research projects and enjoyed training and mentoring others which aided in my passion for teaching and mentorship.
I have tutored several students in math and science over the past 10+ years. During my undergraduate studies, I worked in a math tutoring center, where I tutored several students in college algebra. I also tutored students in chemistry. My tutoring sessions included both one-on-one as well as group tutoring consisting of 3-5 students. In addition to tutoring college students, I tutored high school and middle school-aged students in algebra, the physical sciences, and the life sciences.
My approach is first to identify the concepts that a student is struggling with and then to help them improve. I like to then create a study strategy that will help students to succeed in their coursework. such a strategy may include developing more robust study skills and learning how to think about complex topics in more simplistic ways. I also like to emphasize the importance of practicing problems regularly to reinforce knowledge. I'm flexible and have a passion for helping others. Please reach out if you have any questions or need any assistance." less...
