"I earned my PhD in Chemistry from Oklahoma State University in 2017, after completing my bachelor's degree in Chemistry at Northeastern State University in 2012. I’ve always had a passion for chemistry, which led me to start tutoring as an undergrad—helping my classmates with everything from basic concepts to more advanced topics. This grew into something I really enjoyed, and I continued tutoring through grad school, helping students with both chemistry and math.
Now, I teach General Chemistry I and II at my local community college, and I’ve developed a teaching style that I think really clicks with my students. I use a flipped classroom model where students watch lecture videos before class, and then we focus on working through problems and examples together. This gives students a chance to ask questions, get real-time feedback, and truly understand the material. My students have shared positive feedback about my approachable teaching style, and I’m always looking for ways to make chemistry more accessible and engaging.
Although I mostly teach college students, I’d be more than happy to work with high school students as well. I’m comfortable breaking things down and explaining concepts in a way that makes sense, whether you're struggling with basic chemistry or tackling more challenging math and science problems. I’m passionate about helping students succeed and building their confidence in chemistry, so if you're looking for a laid-back, yet effective tutor, I’d love to work with you." less...
