I recently defended my dissertation and am set to receive my PhD in December 2024 from Florida International University in Teaching and Learning, focusing on Special Education. I am certified in Georgia, Florida, and Oklahoma in Special Education (mild and moderate) for K-12, as well as in Elementary Education. Additionally, I hold a Reading K-12 certification in Florida and have earned my ESOL endorsement in all states. As a certified educator for eight years and in my seventh year of teaching, I have taught students with emotional behavioral disorders for three years and worked as an ESE support facilitator for two years with students with exceptionalities, including specific learning disabilities (SLD), intellectual disabilities (ID), autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and other health impairments (OHI).
As an educator, I have tutored students to meet the demands of standardized state tests in math and reading. My teaching approach involves scaffolding, differentiated instruction, and interactive learning, along with assessing students’ knowledge of what they’ve learned. I have taught students across all age groups from K-12 and possess a deep understanding of student expectations for grades K-8. My experience includes working with students with varying exceptionalities as well as those without." less...
