"I've been teaching at the college and university level for twelve years. I'm a full-time pharmacology lecturer in the college of medicine at a large university and also teach pharmacology, bioanalytical chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and chemistry at a community college.
I earned my PhD in medical sciences with a concentration in physiology and pharmacology after receiving a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. Between my time in grad school and as a postdoc, I have eleven years of research experience in drug discovery, drug metabolism, and cancer biology, authoring seventeen peer-reviewed publication and a book chapter.
In my current role as a lecturer, my time is 100% devoted to education, which is something that I enjoy. I consistently receive extremely high instructor evaluations, averaging 4.63/5 over 2,200 reviews.
My teaching is effective because I always take a student-centered approach, working to not over complicate things and presenting ideas in relatable ways while working to keep our time interesting and entertaining. I've found that students often struggle with the logistics of their courses; knowing what to do when. It's hard enough to learn new things, students don't need to be fighting the course, too. I work to help students develop a plan that addresses short-, medium-, and long-term plans for their course.
I enjoy helping students to learn the material that I find so interesting while also teaching them skills that they can apply in their other courses.
Please note that I am currently unable to work with students from the University of Florida or Santa Fe College." less...
