"Hi!
My name is Aarti and I am currently a PhD student at USC studying Environmental Engineering! I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2022 with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering Science and just earned my Masters in Environmental Engineering from USC in 2024.
Throughout my academic career, I have had extensive experience as a tutor in STEM tutoring centers and as a teaching assistant for undergraduate- and graduate-level courses. I have worked with highschool students in a variety of AP Math and Science courses, tutored undergraduate students in General Physics and General Chemistry at the UC Berkeley Student Learning Center, and guided undergraduate and graduate students as a teaching assistant in Environmental Engineering courses at USC. I have had experience tutoring in group and one-on-one settings both in-person and over virtual platforms like Zoom.
I can tutor for math (Pre-Algebra through AP Calculus AB), chemistry (any level of highschool chemistry, college-level General Chemistry, Water Chemistry), physics (AP Physics 1, college-level General Physics – for Mechanics only), and some general environmental engineering courses. While I have mainly worked with highschool, undergraduate, and graduate students, I am open to working with younger students.
I enjoy interacting with students of all backgrounds, and have learned to base my tutoring methods in a student-centered framework, effectively adapting my teaching strategies to respect and honor the many different ways of learning. I understand that STEM can often be intimidating, thus I love to share my passion for the field and show students that developing the proper problem-solving skillset can make STEM fun and much easier to tackle!
If you are interested in working with me, as of now I would prefer to have sessions over Zoom but may be open to sessions in a cafe/library in the Los Angeles area." less...
