"I’m Aparajita! I am a current PhD student studying health and computer science at Columbia University, with a background in biophysics from John’s Hopkins University. Inspired by my time receiving tutoring as an undergraduate, I tutored math, chemistry, and physics for 2 years. As a PhD student, I have acted as a teaching assistant for classes that cover probability and statistics, basic python and coding, and more advanced machine learning. During these classes, I designed lectures and lab assignments and offered one-on-one help to students who needed it.

My approach to teaching is highly problem-based: in many STEM classes, learning how questions may be asked and preparing to respond in a consistent, logical way is almost as important as learning the material itself.
