"I began tutoring middle and high school students as part of the National Honor Society community service requirement in high school and quickly found a passion for helping others with their academic pursuits. I scored 5s in AP Physics 1 & C, AP Biology, and AP Chemistry, allowing me to help high school students confidently across all proficiency levels. Recently, I graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a double major in Biotechnology and Biochemistry, enhancing my capability to assist college students in a wide range of biology and chemistry courses. As a rising PhD student, my passion for STEM extends into my career, and I am driven to develop a positive attitude in STEM among my students.
I began volunteer-tutoring with my high school's NHS chapter for a year (2020-21), then joined GoPeer, Inc. (2021-present) to formally begin my tutoring journey. With GoPeer, I have taught students nationwide of different learning needs and backgrounds and hosted 90+ lessons in CP, Honors, and AP levels of Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Math. When I tutor, I also teach study tips to my students, as I believe effective study strategies and time organization are crucial to academic excellence. At Rutgers University, I took on several pedagogical roles, from teaching an international transition course for 2 years to leading study groups as a Learning Assistant for the 400-level General Biochemistry course.
Given my extensive experiences in leading and tutoring diverse communities of students, I am confident that I will be able to assist my students through Wyzant even more creatively and enthusiastically. My common approaches are lecturing on a topic and then giving students problems to apply concepts to, assisting with homework problems, and reviewing past exams to design a study plan. Therefore, my teaching style is incredibly flexible and tailored to the custom needs of each student I undertake. Please feel free to reach out to me, and we can discuss the best plan for you!" less...
