"I am a recently retired Professor with a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and over 30+ years of college level chemistry teaching experience. After I retired, I realized how much I missed teaching students, and I am excited to help you learn about the amazing field of chemistry.

I have taught Preparatory Chemistry, Chemistry for Nursing Majors, General Chemistry, and Analytical Chemistry courses. Over the years, I have taught over 100 high school students who have taken my General Chemistry class as dual enrollment students, and several of them have scored a 5 in the Advanced Placement Chemistry exam. I have about a year of chemistry tutoring experience on a different tutoring platform, helping students prep for college courses, including Honors, IB, and AP Chemistry and college chemistry courses. My students have ranged from 14-year-old freshmen to college juniors. I have received a rating of 5.0/5.0 for my tutoring work on this platform.

I am a passionate teacher with a unique ability to break conceptual chemistry into simple, easy to visualize pieces of information. My lectures are always interactive; I encourage students to ask question by announcing as often as possible that there are no wrong question. I always ask questions to provoke curiosity and promote critical thinking. I come prepared with 2 to 3 examples to explain the principles, and I reinforce conceptual ideas with numerical examples. While solving numerical problems, I seek a lot of student input for each step to gauge their level of understanding and to incorporate the pertinent theory behind it.

My students have appreciated my comprehensive, engaging style of teaching.
