"As a professional private tutor, mentor and coach with over 20 years experience (newer to Wyzant), I am devoted to your learning and understanding of any topic that we engage in. Having been a former college professor and a current scientist, engineer and IT systems analyst/architect, with degrees in engineering & computing (BSEE), and science (PhD), I bring real-world knowledge and skills into our work together.

As a tutor of long practice, I bring a breadth and depth of expertise to contemporary curricula, methods and standards.

I am extraordinarily patient, gentle, easy to understand and work with. Tutoring is different in important ways from classroom teaching, and requires a unique relationship with the student and their individual style of learning. With a doctorate in Neuropsychology, I am particularly proficient at working with neurodivergent clients, including ADHD/ADD, learning anxiety, and other attentional/cognitive challenges. I am also adept at teaching study and organization skills, providing academic counseling, and increasing self-confidence.

I routinely tutor High School & College mathematics, from Algebra I thru Calculus, as well as advanced probability and statistics. In science, I tutor HS subjects such as Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, including Honors and AP in those subjects. College subjects include general Biology, Chemistry, and Physics through modern physics, as well as Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Neuroscience.
