"Hello! My name is Delaney, and I am passionate about helping young learners thrive in their reading and writing skills. I graduated cum laude from Colorado State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. I hold a Teacher Licensure for birth through 2nd grade, and I specialize in tutoring younger elementary students (K-2nd) in phonemic awareness and phonics and offer comprehensive support to help them improve their reading and writing skills.

With a strong educational background and extensive experience as an intern, student teacher and substitute teacher, I have worked with students from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. Throughout these roles, I have developed strong relationships with students, implemented positive behavior management strategies, and created developmentally appropriate lessons for individual students, small groups and large groups. My experience also includes creating welcoming and safe environments and conducting comprehensive assessments and reading intervention plans.

I excel in tutoring elementary students in phonemic awareness and phonics, developing individualized lessons to enhance their reading skills and provide the essential tools they need to grow as young learners. Central to my teaching philosophy is building strong, meaningful relationships with my students and creating a supportive environment where every child is and feels capable of success. I believe learning should be fun and effective, so my lessons incorporate evidence-based practices, fun manipulatives and engaging activities to foster a love for reading.
