During Dr. G’s senior year of a dually enrolled high school, her chemistry professor noted that Dr. G was assisting other students study the most difficult organic chemistry problems. The professor urged Dr. G to volunteer her time in the St. Petersburg College Academic Resource Commons. Dr. G found that her passion helped make her peers comfortable with both the subjects and their age differences. She also prepared methodical notes for fellow disabled students during her classes at St. Petersburg College.
In 2012, Dr. G graduated from University of South Florida with her bachelor’s degree in chemistry and minor in mathematics. Dr. G’s passion for mentorship and children strengthened. She became a big sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and volunteered for The Children's Dream Fund to make dreams come true for seriously ill children. Prior to enrollment in medical school, Dr. G provided free academic services to hospitalized children at All Children’s Hospital. She was a counselor at Muscular Dystrophy Camp and provided 24/7 bedside care for children with spinal muscular atrophy. She was also a active Guardian ad litem, advocating in courtrooms for children who have suffered neglect or abuse.
Dr. G graduated as a Doctor of Osteopathy in 2019. She is currently board certified in adult and child and adolescent psychiatry. Her expertise in behavioral health, medicine, and academics give her a unique ability to understand how students think.
