"I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Physics in 2013. Since, I have been a graduate student working towards a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Arizona specializing in Astronomy and Astrophysics. During my time in graduate school I have taught (both as a Teaching Assistant and Primary Instructor) Physics 1 (Mechanics), Physics 2 (Electricity & Magnetism), and Computational Physics each at the Algebra and Calculus level. My teaching style is learner-centric and I have employed active learning techniques to empower my students to learn.
I have spent two years tutoring college physics to University of Arizona students. I develop tutoring sessions based on the goals of the each student. Most tutoring lessons involve the student solving problems (whether they be homework, test prep, or example problems) while I provide oversight. If I see the student take a wrong turn or if the student is stuck, I will then ask directed questions to push the student in direction they need to succeed.
I am a Ph.D. student in Physics specializing in Astronomy and Astrophysics. During my time as a graduate student, I have acted as both a teaching assistant and the primary instructor for most physics classes. I also have experience developing learner-centered and active learning lesson plans for these courses.
If you have any questions about my experiences or teaching-style or you would like to schedule lessons, please do not hesitate to contact me." less...
