"Hi folks! My name is Ryan. I'm a physicist/astronomer/educator with an excellent background in math, science, economics, business, and history. I have considerable experience teaching and tutoring high school and college students.

I'm a National AP Scholar, National Merit Scholar, and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. I got a 1580 on my SAT (old style, max 1600) and a 1540 on my GRE (max of 1600). I took and passed 10 AP tests with at least a 4, including three exams that I studied for independently. Basically, I am very good at taking tests, and can help you get better, too! However, I tend to emphasize learning for the long-term, which helps a person's test scores as well as their general intellectual and social development.

Perhaps most importantly, I've been told I am very empathetic and psychologically perceptive. I am a product of public K-12 education and understand where kids are coming from who attend those schools. I also know that, particularly in math and the hard sciences, much of my work will be confidence building and challenging the negative self-talk about "not being a math person".

I'm also writing an e-book for students taking the AP Physics C exam! I think it might be ready for students taking it in 2013. The e-book will cover techniques useful for all high school and college coursework in STEM fields.

I love what I do! Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. Hope to hear from you soon!" less...
