"Hi! I'm Alex and I'm eager to help students prepare for tests and succeed in their math and physics classes. I got my undergrad degree from OSU in 2020 in Physics and Astronomy and just recently finished the first year of my Physics Ph.D. Previously, I served as an instructional assistant for an introductory astronomy class for non-majors. Right now I work as a research assistant in an astro-particle physics research group.
I've been with my research group since summer 2019, just before entering my last year of undergrad. Since then, a significant part of my time has been spent mentoring and instructing undergraduate students in our research group to get them familiar with the physics and tools we use for our research. This has given me practice and insight into teaching more junior students and recognizing their different instructional needs. I'm most proud of the patience I bring to my work, which is something I find essential in both research and teaching.
My goal as a tutor is to make the material engaging for you *and* me. That means that I plan to put considerable effort into making the material digestible in ways that push my pedagogical skills and ignite your passion for math and science. If you're looking for someone to help you get ahead in math or begin your programming journey this summer, send me a message!" less...
