"She has taught sophomores at The University of Texas at Austin as a teaching assistant for two years and is certified in the Mayron Cole Piano Method. The Mayron Cole Piano Method is unique and different from other piano methods available because it emphasizes the importance of reading notes and rhythms, which is fundamental in learning music. Many other piano methods often introduce fingering numbers too soon, resulting in the student's difficulty to read notes without fingering numbers.
However, she is open to other piano methods and customization for students' needs. She uses series by Faber and Faber as supplements to the Mayron Cole Method to expose students to various types of music and to make it more interesting for students.
Her philosophy of teaching piano is to help students with reading notes and rhythms accurately so eventually the students can read any music by themselves so they can enjoy playing music anytime.
She also encourages students to be creative and teaches composition. She offers ear training and sight singing for students who want to extend their musical abilities." less...
