"Pierre began his violin studies at the age of 8 under the guidance of Li Lin in the Bay Area. Over the next decade, he won some local violin competitions such as the Senior Strings Division of the MTAC’s VOCE competition in 2005, and toured and performed as part of both the California Youth Symphony (CYS) and the San Francisco Youth Symphony Orchestra. In the next decade, he went on to earn his Bachelors in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory under Marylou Speaker Churchill and James Buswell. His performing career has taken him to venues around the globe, including Vienna’s Musikverein, Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw, Paris’s Théâtre des Champs-élysées, and Germany’s Rheingau Festival. He has also performed as an actor and musician at French summer music festivals in Lyon and St. Riquier, off-Broadway at the 92nd Street Y, The Harvard Club of Boston. Most of his rehearsal and performance time in life has been in Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, and the esteemed Jordan Hall in Boston. A passionate educator, his students hold positions in local orchestras and school programs, including CYS and the San Jose Youth Orchestra.
He coaches with understanding, and supports proper communication about Music. While putting an emphasis on performance consistency and warm-ups over "practice," eventually, advanced sight reading, improvisation and technique follow.
