"Hi, my name is Ben, and I’m thrilled to be your tutor! I recently earned a PhD in physics from Princeton University, where my research focused on experimental quantum physics and atomic physics. Before that, I double-majored in physics and math at Stanford University. During my time at Princeton, I spent three semesters as graduate teaching assistant for introductory physics classes, helping design curriculum and working closely with students in both one-on-one and small group settings. Additionally, I helped supervise three undergraduates working on their senior thesis projects, providing mentorship and guidance throughout their research.
At Stanford, I served for three years on the executive board of SPLASH, an organization that brings local high school and middle school students to campus for a weekend of unique classes taught by Stanford students. I also enjoyed teaching with SPLASH, creating and leading engaging courses for younger students. My teaching journey began even earlier, as a robotics mentor for middle school students while I was a high school student. Altogether, I bring over a decade of teaching experience across a wide range of subjects and age groups!
As an instructor, my goal is to make the material engaging and accessible to foster long-term learning. I achieve this by creating individualized lessons that build on each student’s existing knowledge and experiences, enabling deeper understanding and meaningful connections with the subject matter.
I offer tutoring in physics and math at both the university and high school levels, chemistry at the high school level, and introductory computer science. I also have experience with AP coursework and can create personalized programs to help students excel in SAT and ACT preparation. I’m flexible and happy to adapt to your needs, so feel free to reach out, and let’s get started!" less...
