"Hello, my name is Sophia! I am an undergraduate at Princeton University, studying at the School of Public and International Affairs with a 3.576 GPA. I graduated from the International Baccalaureate program with a 4.0 GPA and honors, having learned conversational Spanish and all standard skills.

From high school to college, I have had a deep fondness for learning and have always been adamant about encouraging other students to aspire to learn as much as possible. However, it was in the moments when I had someone who saw my potential and pushed me to try my hardest in the subjects I felt uncomfortable with that I found my strengths and thrived. In these instances of one-on-one tutoring, I discovered it to be a place of encouragement and excitement.

My favorite tutoring methods are explanation, experience, and practice. First, we walk through a practice example. Then, you best describe your perspective to help me gauge and analyze how you think, blending your present knowledge with mine. Finally, I allow time for individual practice to prompt creative thinking. Afterward, I review your work and repeat it until you have a concrete understanding.

My experience includes a year of one-on-one online tutoring during high school with the service organization, Army of Angels. In that year I volunteered several hours a week and worked intensely with high school and middle school students. The subjects covered ranged from Algebra, Writing, Reading, and Spanish. These dedicated hours helped me learn the necessary tools to be collaborative and patient with students while developing a productive environment. Besides tutoring these students in core subjects, I have assisted in editing college application essays.
