"Let me help you with summer classes or getting ready for the coming year!
About me:
I graduated with honors from Princeton University with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (thesis in Biophysics) and several minors, including Finance, Material Science Engineering, and Pre-med. After college, I worked on Wall Street as a quant trader until taking a year off to travel the world.
Qualifications:
I began tutoring high school Physics over 10 years ago. In college, that extended to include Calculus, Diff Eq, Chemistry, and higher-level Physics. For the last few years, I have mostly focused on Calculus-based Physics and Math (anything from Algebra, Geo, up to Multivariable Calculus). In 2021, for a period of time, I was ranked #1 female tutor for Physics on Wyzant. :)
SAT Math: 800/800
SAT Subject Math IIC, Physics, Chem: all 800/800
AP Calc BC, AP Stats, AP Physics C, AP Chemistry, AP Econ, AP Psych, etc: all 5/5
National Merit Scholar, US Physics Team, International Math Modeling Comp, AIME, etc.
Tutoring:
Whether it's acing those tests, pulling up your grade, or getting help with homework, I would love to help. Tutoring over the years, I've noticed students overuse "trick" test-taking strategies and rely heavily on simple memorization of formulae. In the long run, this does not work. On the contrary, I want to help students build a solid foundation bottom up, propelling them to get those straight A's, AP 5s, or perfect 800s.
What to expect:
My tutoring style involves several phases:
1) Build an overall picture of subject and finding weak spots.
2) Go over theory of above-mentioned topics.
3) Map each problem to a topic and approach. (This is an extremely important step. I've found the issue many students have is they don't know where to start. Understanding categories of questions and mapping type to answer is 90% of the work!)
4) Practice, practice, practice.
Look forward to hearing from you!" less...
