"Over the last decade, I've instructed students of all ages, from tots to graduates. I've heavily invested that time preparing high-schoolers for such brain teasers as the SAT and ACT. I can teach both sides of the fence, yes, both English and math.
I've worked with, trained with, hired for, and written curricula for some smart outfits, most recently as the SAT Director at Premier Plus for nearly two years. As director, I was entrusted to hire or vet incoming SAT and ACT tutors, so I have become something of a tutor of tutors. I also led a team to write mock tests for the New SAT. Furthermore, I authored my own SAT-specific grammar guide for company use at James Eno Tutorials and another SAT-specific grammar guide for my current students. While I have certainly acquired my own teaching philosophy over the years, I've remained flexible. I continue to experiment with techniques and teach in many styles, in one-on-one sessions or in classrooms, at home or in the office, with pre-fabbed syllabi or my original curricula.
Parents and students love my work. One mom wrote my boss praising my first session with her son, "he learned more in 90 minutes with her than he did during a whole semester class of SAT prep in Europe. He also likes working with her." In only three weeks of tutoring, I brought another student's SAT score up 120 points.
I tailor my lessons to students' capabilities and parents' wishes. I demonstrate test, study, retention, and anti-anxiety strategies. I influence students to become independent learners and always manage to squeeze in a laugh or two." less...
