"I have been a business professional for over 30 years and have experience with fund raising, financial and business plan development, speech, technical and creative writing. I have also been involved in the hiring and training of personnel at all levels. I have been both successful and have failed, so I have a unique understanding of how and why things work and conversely do not work. I do not know it all, but I know enough. There is much to learn from failure; I think more than from success and both on multiple levels. How you handle yourself, how you communicate with other as there is a great difference between confident, quite self assurance and being a cocky braggart.

Personally I am a student of history, the U.S. Constitution. I am an avid sports fan having participated and/or coached at some level in: baseball, football, basketball, track, golf and much more. I understand the fundamentals of all and know that teaching these first and then everyday provides the strongest possible foundation for success.

As a teacher / tutor I find all of these skills highly transferable. I work on a simple premise. I will show you how to do it, I will watch you do it and assist, I will watch you do it and critique. This does not mean I will not be a tough teacher but I am not a task master. I am honest and will let you and your child know this up front. I will expect the same honesty and hard work from the both of you.

The success of both a teacher and a student is reliant on three parties participation. First, the parents' willingness to be involved, second, the student's willingness to be taught, and third and no less important than the other two is the teacher's ability and desire to teach with an open mind and open heart." less...
