"I emphasize the fundamentals of brass playing focusing on breathing, blowing, embouchure, and sound production. My students go places and have a blast! Students include Principal or first chairs for California State Honor Band, California State Honor Jazz Band, California Youth Symphony, San Jose Youth Symphony, Santa Clara County Honor Band, Colorado Youth Symphony, Continental League Honor Band and Orchestra, and Colorado State Honor Band. Students are currently enrolled as music majors at the University of Colorado, University of Northern Colorado, and Colorado State University.

I teach lessons on all brass instruments for all musical styles and have over 35 years of experience as a private teacher. In addition, I taught 5th and 6th grade band in the highly rated Los Altos Schools from 1996-2004, one of California's top districts.

In addition to my work as an educator I am active as a professional having worked with all major arts organizations in Colorado including Colorado Ballet, Colorado Symphony, Opera Colorado, and Central City Opera. From 1986-2004 I was in the San Francisco Bay area, and during this time I held numerous positions including 18 seasons as Principal Trumpet in California Symphony and was tenured as 2nd Trumpet in San Jose Symphony.
