"Hello! My name is Charlene, and I am excited to be a new addition to the Wyzant Tutoring team.

I would like to begin my telling you a bit about myself: I graduated Francis Marion University with a Master’s Degree in Education that concentrated with Remediation and Intervention of At-risk Students. I taught 2nd grade for several years before becoming a college professor at Midlands Technical College. There, I taught Education courses and Developmental English for 14 years. From there, I worked with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for 3.5 years as an Educational Consultant. Now, I have an opportunity to work with this learning community as we grow, prosper and learn together.

Outside of the school, I enjoy spending with my family and friends, cooking, reading, and crocheting.

I have 25 years of teaching across all subject matters in elementary and at the college level it's level. Specifically, I have taught and tutored in Elementary Math for over 10 years.

I taught elementary reading for 6 years in addition to being a professor for English for 15 years where I taught writing composition and grammar.
