"I'm Daniel! I graduated from Stuyvesant high school, a specialized high school in NYC. I scored a 620 on the SHSAT and a 1530 on the SAT (with a 800 on the SAT Math section). I am a college sophomore at the University of Michigan, pursuing a bachelors in Computer Science. Throughout high school, I realized the value of seeing how motivated and passionate teachers inspired students to reach new heights and potentials. I strive to apply this knowledge to my tutoring practices, first by using pre-prepared lesson plans to give students an overview of the material. Afterwards, I will continue to give students more detail about the topic as well as answer any questions, before giving them time for practice. However, I recognize that everybody has different ways to approach learning, and am always open to modifying it to fit the student's unique style.

I have 3+ years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in preparation for the SHSAT, NYC's specialized high school entrance exam. I did this as part of the Project Metis and Stuyvesant Summer Tutoring Organizations, teaching elementary-level English and Math online daily. Additionally, at my high school, I was part of the National Honor Society, which also gave me the opportunity to tutor underclassmen (one on one) in high school topics they may have had trouble with, like chemistry and calculus.

I also am very passionate about computer science and am willing to tutor students in it, as it is a rapidly growing field with a lot of potential. I recently interned at Cornell, where I researched machine learning to classify audio in urban settings. I won the second place award in the 2023 Terra NYC STEM Fair, and currently have national lab research experience.
