"I was actually a tutor before I began teaching--I tutored summer geography classes while I was an MA student and loved the interactions with students. I'm pretty easy going but am quite good at setting goals for students that are achievable. I don't mind holding you to task if that is what motivates you, but I think this works best when you work to develop a love of learning in a subject area.

I have been a full time teacher since 1994 and have loads of classroom and professional experience. I have undergraduate degrees in history and geography. After getting an MA in geography, I taught middle and high school social studies and history for six years (including two AP classes-US History and Human Geography) before going back to graduate school for a doctorate in international studies. I now teach geography and political science at the university level and am a tenured professor.
