"Hi there!
Need a little help with learning BIOLOGY? New to Nutrition? Boggled by Anatomy & Physiology? Bewildered by Genetics and Molecular Biology? I'm here to help!
I offer compassionate, student centered opportunities for online learning. I am a Licensed Professional Biology Teacher with 23 years of experience teaching and tutoring at the high school and college levels. I hold a current Biology Teaching Certification (MA License) and a Master of Education, with Biology Concentration; previous to that, I have earned a Bachelor of Science with Biochemistry Concentration and built my foundation with two Associate of Science in both General Science and in Biotechnology, while graduating with honors in my specialized fields of the biological sciences.
Currently, I am booking online sessions for the life sciences: *Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Anatomy & Physiology and Ecology.
I am sensitive to the learning differences of each individual and focus our sessions on the students’ goals and strengths, guiding them through any obstacles in the path of their learning. I tend to determine what is most important to the student and use authentic examples of science in the context of real-life applications that compliment student's goals to lead to deeper understanding. Together we can collaborate, determine your goals together, and individualize your instruction to your needs.
As an educational philosophy, I believe that education and learning are essential for personal growth and success, and that learning is fun and engaging; I follow the UDL, Universal Design for Learning, model of multiple modes of academic access, engaged activity and student expression of what they learn. Teaching is an art that elegantly combines cognitive, psychological and educational elements with each student's unique learning requirements. Instruction should be individualized to match the student's needs." less...
